Tarte Makeup Kit

Back in the summer, I saw an amazing deal with Tarte that was £56 for a makeup kit of 7 full size products. I loved the makeup I received, and so when I saw the offer again a few weeks ago, I knew I had to place another order.

Park Ave Princess Bronzer

The shade is absolutely perfect, I have to be careful with bronzers as I'm quite pale they can often look muddy on my face, but the grey ashy tone of this means that I can use this to contour and add some shape in! It builds well, and has become an absolute staple of mine! The one thing I have to say is that this has a very strong scent, as soon as you open the product you are hit with it, it is almost chocolatey...

The packaging of this is lovely and very luxe, it's weighty yet practical due to the mirror inside. This retails for £25 which is around the average cost for a high end bronzer, but the packaging enables this to stand out from the crowd for me.

Clay Stick Foundation

Last time I took a risk and ordered a foundation having no idea of shades, and miraculously by just ordering the lightest shade and keeping my fingers crossed it worked out, so I thought I would do it again. I suffer with blemishes constantly, so always opt for a medium- full coverage, as I am self-conscious with this.

On first impressions, the product itself is quite small, and in my experience I tend to use stick foundations quicker, so we will have to see how this fares. The coverage feels light on the skin but builds nicely, it lasts all day, and after the last week or so of use, it's barely gone down at all, so the size is not an issue! The slightest shade is perfect for me, and this has been the only foundation that I've reached for since it arrived!

This retails for £31 which seems a lot in comparison to the other stick foundation that I have used that is £6 and I cannot fault it. I am going to repurchase the high street one, and we'll do a side by side comparison!

Aquaflash Foundation Brush

I own a few Tarte brushes already, so was more than happy to add another into the mix. I was worried that the handle would annoy me originally, but I barely notice it now. The brush head is packed with bristles, and unlike another foundation brush I have, this doesn't become too clogged with foundation. I also find that it doesn't soak up the product like some do, but instead blends it out really smoothly.

This sells for £23, which would normally put me off, I am more than happy with a £6 Real Techniques sponge, however due to how well this blends, and the quality of this, I would 100% recommend this to others, and be tempted to add to my collection!

Lights Camera Lashes

I have long eyelashes anyway, so I'm not too fussy with mascara, but this one is lovely! It adds to the natural length, but also builds volume well. It doesn't go clumpy, and also doesn't transfer as much as others I have do.

I've heard good things about this mascara for years, and have always held off because I wasn't keen on the packaging. When paying for a high end brand, you expect luxe packaging, and I wasn't impressed. However when holding this, it doesn't feel cheap or tacky in any form, and it definitely stands out against its competitors.

This sells for £21, which is standard for a high end brand, would I buy it again? If I was looking for a high end mascara then I think I would, but I'd really appreciate a packaging change!

Creamy Matte Lip Paint - Namaste

Yes I own over 20 nude lipsticks, and yes I will continue to buy them...

I prefer a matte lip as I find that they last longer and I never manage to top up during the day, but I hate the feeling when the super dry ones crumble, so I opted for the creamy matte range. The texture is similar to that of the Nyx Creamy Matte ones, but then it dries so lasts longer. I have found that when it first dries it can feel slightly too dry, but then this disappears. This is an easy to wear lipstick that will get you through a long day!

It retails for £17, which is a lot for what it is in my opinion. I think that there are many high street alternatives that do the job just as well.

There was one other product in the kit, but that was brought as a Christmas present so is locked away...
