New Locks

Most people would associate me with blonde hair, it's safe to say that I have definitely experimented with my hair over the years, but I always go back to my safe zone with blonde,  however it was time for a proper change.

Over a year ago now I had an extreme reaction to bleach, which has never happened to me before, but left me unable to put bleach onto my scalp for the foreseeable future, this also lead to many complications regarding shampoos, treatments etc. So for months I have been going with ombre, which just wasn't quite what I was happy with, I love being blonde and I wanted it more than anything.

Now my hairdresser is a miracle worker, whenever I go in, I come out with exactly what I want, and feeling like a princess with the prettiest curls too. Jadene understands that I have to take my Dove shampoo in, and I've never left her feeling even slightly disappointed, I've always loved it. So when I messaged her the other day saying that I was going dark, I think it came as a shock.

I decided to take the plunge, go brunette, have a considerable amount off the length, and just feel refreshed, so on Wednesday I sat down with outgrown ombre desperate for a cut, and left just two hours later with beautiful brown curls. I could not tell you how many compliments I have received since leaving the salon, and I genuinely couldn't be happier with the results.

Although I still have to be super careful regarding shampoo etc, I know that I can still have the most beautiful colour on my hair and not have to worry about it. I've never been too impressed with hairdressers before, but after over a year and a half, I would never go to anyone but Jadene now!

Aladdin @ Salisbury Playhouse

When an email dropped into my inbox with an invitation to go and see this years pantomime at Salisbury Playhouse, I knew instantly that I was going! When I heard that the whizzes behind the production of Cinderella that I watched last year, I set my expectations high!

Aladdin isn't a story I'd traditionally associate with a pantomime, but the production was wonderful, and for anyone who ever says that pantomimes are just for children should definitely get booking a ticket asap. The staging was so beautiful, with my favourite part by far being the magic carpet! The acting was outstanding, and it just didn't have the over cheesiness that some pantomimes do, which I was so happy about!

Housed in the main house, the atmosphere from the audience is exhilarating, and you can tell the impact that this has on the performance too! I think I'm actually going back to see this one again with family, because I was just so impressed!!

Getting Festive

Christmas is looming, and despite buying all my presents, having them all wrapped, and being on the verge of breaking up for a few weeks, I am just not feeling festive! So I thought I'd do a post on the things that I do to not only get festive, but to just spend a nice cosy evening in!

For the evenings where I just want to be cosy and snug without having christmas thrown at me, I love nothing more than curling up with some of my favourite candles, anything apple scented is always a winner for me, and grabbing all the cushions and blankets, and putting on a good film, some of my favourites are Superhero films - so The Dark Knight Trilogy* is always a safe choice, along with my favourite marvel characters, Iron Man of course tops the list, and then Captain America is slowly creeping up too!

For the evenings when I need to get festive, the christmas tree gets turned on, Christmas pjs come out, the big tub of chocolates, the christmas candles are lit and on the tv are the classic christmas films, The Polar Express* & Jack Frostare two of my childhood favourites and this year we've added Get Santa& National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation* to the list!

I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas music - shock horror! But I also love iceskating, and spending hours on end wandering around the Christmas markets, going out for dinner and drinks with friends to catch up and send all my love for the festive period. I may not currently be feeling festive, but give it a week and I'll be full on festive cheer personified!

How do you get festive?
