The Girl on the Train is one of the books that I have seen and heard the most about in a long time, I'd been meaning to pick it up for so long, and then on a pre-holiday book haul with the girls, I finally took it to the till, it was the first book I read on my holiday, and from the opening page I was gripped, I didn't want to put it down.
The narrative follows Rachel, who's life has drastically changed, she has gone from a happy marriage, to being a lonely alcoholic who has become obsessed with her previous life, the narrative then flips between Rachel, Megan & Anna.
I was on the edge of my seat through the entirety of the novel, I had to know what was going to happen next, and the twist at the end took me by complete surprise, I loved every second of reading this book, and was very excited when I saw a trailer for the upcoming film!!! Some may find it difficult to become so integrated into a fictional world, but this book breaks those boundaries, you want to solve the mystery, help the characters, and the only disappointment I found with this book, was that I wanted more, I wanted another novel, or for it to never end!
