Home Sense Hedge End Opening

Last Thursday, the new Home Sense and TKMaxx stores opened in Hedge End in Southampton, and on the Wednesday evening we were invited along to have a snoop around the new store!

It is super handy having the two shops conjoined, it really is like a superstore in there now, with Homeware heaven on one side, and then fashion, beauty & accessories galore on the other! I've always been a fan, because they're prices are up to 60% off the RRP, but always get caught out, because if you want something, you'd better buy it there and then otherwise you'll be having nightmares over losing it!
The front of the shop was a winter wonderland, and it definitely made me feel more festive, even though we still have two months to go! I will definitely be popping back to grab some cute christmas decorations this year!
They had us all swooning with the gorgeous displays and colour schemes they had, I cannot wait until I have my own house and I can get creative!
The stationary aisles had us all snapping away, with gorgeous notebooks adorned with gold foiling and inspirational quotes, I think I was one of few who managed to persuade themselves I didn't need one, I'm not sure how many of us did though!
The pineapple was something that some of fell for instantly, it's so quirky and the metallic detailing just gives it that something special! Of course, we all descended upon the beauty section where there were some absolute bargains! TKMaxx are known for their beauty bargains but it's hard to get them before others have destroyed them!
We were kindly given a gift voucher to spend and treat ourselves, and I found the £25 went such a long way! I picked up a candle from Celerie that smells exactly fresh apples which is my favourite scent! I also found a gorgeous muted brown nail varnish from Illamasqua and a translucent powder from Too Faced. I was then templed to a huge box of Lindt chocolate when paying... All of this, and I even managed to still have 24p on my gift card!

Topshop - Easy Peasy

I brought Easy Peasy around 6 months ago, I had lusted after it for so long, but it took me a while to finally get it, and then when I did I lost it for ages! I could not have been happier when I found it!

I will say that it definitely isn't as matte as I thought it would be, but you can definitely see the difference between a standard varnish and this one! I think the grey makes it look so easy to wear, and I love it. It goes on evenly, and dries super quickly, which is ideal! As you can see from the picture though, I'm definitely not the best at applying nail varnish - oops!

I want to pick up some more shades from the toyshop range, have you tried any you would recommend?

KIKO Kiss Balm

When I was in London, I obviously couldn't not pop in to KIKO, and I wanted to try some of their skincare, and when you brought two things you got to choose one of their Kiss Balms! I opted for their Blackberry shade, which is the perfect winter shade.

I really want to pick up some more of the range, as these are ideal for the autumn/winter  time as they are super moisturising, have a really good colour payoff, and last for hours on end! This has been in my handbag since I got it, as it's super easy to apply on the go, and the shade is just so gorgeous!!
Have you tried anything from KIKO yet?

And.... Relax!

It's very easy to get overwork yourself, begin to feel very overwhelmed and just let everything get on top of you, but sometimes you need to just take a bit of time for yourself, whether it be 5 minutes in the morning, or a long soak in the bath one evening!

My favourite way to relax is first up, have a bath, and what's a bath without a Lush bath bomb, I lie back, read a book and before I know it I have wrinkly hands and I'm sitting in cold water... Then I like to grab my colouring book, I find these super relaxing and helps you take your mind off things, paint my nails as I'm awful for letting them chip until there's barely any colour left - oops! Then, see what I have to catch up with on Netflix, and grab some of my favourite sweets!

How do you like to relax?

The Statement Skirt

I recently went to London for the day, it was was warm, but still had a bit of a brisk wind, and I knew how much walking I would be doing so also needed something comfortable, so I opted for a high-neck top, a statement skirt, tights & my trusty Nike Roshe Runs.

Seventeen Cosmetics - WOW Skin Highlighter

When I first saw the WOW Skin Highlighter it is fair to say I was sceptical, it is advertised with three potential ways of using it -
1-Before application of foundation
2 - Mixed with your foundation
3- After foundation

I've tried all three ways, and actually suprised myself! I have always just used a highlighter after foundation, but my favourite use of this one is actually before, I replace my primer with this, and after applying your foundation it leaves your skin with an amazing healthy glow.

As you can see, it leaves the skin with a subtle, healthy glow, which is perfect if you want a pretty, dewy look, if I'm off out for dinner or something, I also use this across the top of my cheekbones because it catches the light beautifully, and as with all highlighters, under the brow bone, on the cupids bow, and my favourite way to shorten the nose, just under the tip!

Will you be picking this one up anytime soon?

Seventeen Cosmetics - Define & Conquer Contour Kit

Have you heard of the Define & Conquer Contour Kit from Seventeen Cosmetics yet? I'll admit, I hadn't until recently, but then every time I went into Boots, I'd be eyeing this one up, I thought, surely it can't be that good bearing in mind the price? One thing is for sure, I was wrong!

First things first, the packaging is dreamy, very similar to Nars with the matte black and almost a velvet like finish, it does get grubby very easily, but it looks good enough on your dressing table that you can forgive this!

In the box you are also given a sheet that makes contouring super easy for even newbies to the trend, I think this is such a good inclusion, as a lot of the higher end kits don't provide this, and it breaks it down for those who are just discovering the magic of contouring!
The product itself is really pigmented and doesn't have any orange tones in at all, so works perfectly, and I have found that although it does look very dark in the pan, when on the brush this works well for paler skin too. The highlighter I have instead been using as a setting powder under the eyes, and also using this along the lower cheek, this gives a flawless base and also just exaggerates the contour and hollows of your cheeks!

This product has replaced my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette, and for the price of £5.99, this is one that I will be instantly repurchasing without hesitation when I run out!

Seventeen Cosmetics - Blogger Network

This week is all about Seventeen Cosmetics. They've created somewhat of a storm in the beauty world recently due to the unbelievably low prices and the outstanding quality of products.

Seventeen Cosmetics have launched their very own blogger network, which is a central hub to find new bloggers, and read new posts and also convince yourself that you definitely do need to pick more products - we all get it! I was so excited when an email first dropped in my inbox making me aware of the network, and I can't wait to start submitting my posts, and to interact with more and more bloggers!

Check back later this week for reviews of these gorgeous products!

Chanel - Perfection Lumiere

I've never really looked at Chanel's foundation range because I've always assumed that as with the majority of other brands, I wouldn't manage to find the shade for me, but recently I decided to go and have a look, and after an amazing experience; my mind has been completely changed!

Perfection Lumiere is a full coverage foundation that in my opinion leaves a natural glow on the skin. It glides on the skin, with or without a primer, and I also haven't needed to use a setting spray since discovering this either! My skin appears flawless and airbrushed, with most foundations I find that they cling to my dry skin, and any imperfections, but this one leaves me full of confidence that my foundation is still going strong 7-8 hours after application!

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, with a matte glass bottle, a black lid, a pump which dispenses the perfect amount, and of course in true Chanel fashion, the gold details that make us all swoon! The £36 price tag is eye watering lets be honest, but I would 100% say this is worth it, this is definitely my new favourite base, and now I feel like I should branch out further into Chanel rather than just the lipstick and nail varnish ranges.

YSL - Rose Innocent

Recently at a beauty evening at my local Debenhams, I stumbled across a stand filled with YSL, all at crazy discounted prices... I hunted through every single box, a lot of things were bits that they obviously just couldn't budge, because there were some questionable shades and palettes, but amongst them I did manage to find this gorgeous lipstick!

It's one of their Rouge Volupte Shine range, and is in the shade 31 Rose Innocent. It is a coral pink tone, which is exactly what I've been looking for after being recommended them to compliment my skin tone! It's got a good colour pay off, buildable, and is super moisturising too! This has become a staple for my daily look, and I can't see it leaving any time soon. The packaging is also absolutely stunning which is just an added bonus!

(currently out of stock, but similar shades available)
