Smashbox Cosmetics #MyMascaraMoment

Every now and again, Smashbox have an event where the first 20 people in the store will receive a full size product completely free of charge, without having to buy anything - sounds amazing right?

I have always missed them, but when I saw that is was for Friday 26th, and I was free, I was determined to get my hands on one, and this time it was the Photo Op Eye Brightening Mascara. On first use I was head over heels, it gives my lashes so much volume, which is something I normally struggle with it holds a curl really well, and is blacker than black!

I would definitely recommend picking this up if you're looking for a new mascara, unfortunately this isn't on the UK website, so I've linked the US one!

Did you manage to grab one?

Festival Place - Style Council

On Saturday I was invited along to Festival Place for their first Style Council Event, it was two masterclasses run by Melissa Murrell, on
- How to dress for your bodyshape
- Creating a capsule wardrobe.

We were taught all about how you can easily put your body shape back into the ideal hourglass figure, as every piece of clothing on the market is designed for this shape. but under 10% of us have a true hourglass figure! In the second masterclass we were looking at how you can create an entire wardrobe and hundreds of outfit combinations with just 20 pieces!

Melissa is so talented and it is all so interesting, and I know for sure that I will be bearing her tips in mind when dressing and shopping in the future! I also managed to take note of a few really simple tips to share with you all!

There were also stalls from LUSH Cosmetics, The Body Shop and The Fragrance Shop, who were on hand to give us all beauty advice!

- If you are adding a colour to an outfit, always have two items of this colour on, this will give the appearance of a styled outfit, you can see this below with the coral bag and court shoes!!
- With jackets, long sleeved tops etc, roll the sleeves up, as this will make your waist appear smaller!

Nourish Skincare

I have to admit that I've never heard of the brand Nourish before,  but whilst browsing the Debenhams beauty counters, I saw their whole range was 50% off and I took full advantage!

It's very difficult to give an opinion on skincare before you've been using it for a few months, but on first impressions I have really enjoyed these products over the last couple of weeks. The moisturiser is leaving my skin really hydrated which is something that I really struggle to get from a product, and the serum is just complimenting all of the products, and is working to again hydrate the skin, but also to give the skin a healthier glow!

I would really recommend these products if you're on the search for some new skincare pieces, I know that I'll be popping back in just incase they've got any other pieces left.

Everyday Face

It's been a while since I last showed what I wear on a daily basis and a lot has changed! Please do excuse the dirty brushes...

I use these products to create a flawless base, you might notice there are a few products missing, or example Concealer, my skin has cleared up loads recently, and I just haven't been needing to apply concealer. Blusher is also missing, because I've been loving the finish of the bronzer on its own on the cheeks, and there is also no eyeshadow below, I've not been wearing a lot of eye makeup recently, but when I have been, I reach for my contour palette again, as these shades look gorgeous when blended together through the crease!

Foundation - L'Oreal Infallible | 015 Light Porcelain
Powder - Rimmel Clear Complexion | Transparent
Contour & Hightlight - Charlotte Tilbury Bronze and Glow Palette
Eyebrows - Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade | Taupe
Mascara - Benefit Roller Lash
Lipstick - Lancome | 250

Sunny Days

Is it finally summer? Thursday I thought it was, but as I'm writing this, it's raining outside, come on sun! I managed to get a few pictures whilst enjoying the lovely weather and thought that I would share them with you all!

Bonnie was far more interested in the treat by this point!

Haha, we both look really attractive! I love taking stupid pictures and then looking back on them months later!

How are you all going to be spending your sunny days?

Benefit Roller Lash

I know that I'm very late to the party with this one, but I have been in two minds about picking this up, when I first had the sample size I instantly took a disliking as it did absolutely nothing for my lashes, however, when I found it again, I gave it a second chance, and fell in love, and when I was up in London, there was a 20% on Carnaby Street I couldn't resist.

The brush holds little hooks, and pulls the lashes to perform a curling action and replace eyelash curlers, I fully agree with this, and not only have I not strayed to another mascara since, I have also not touched my curlers! I have long eyelashes anyway, but this adds a lasting curl and so much volume!

I would highly recommend picking this mascara up, it comes in at £19.50 which some may see as a bit pricey in comparison to drug store ones, but I've found that certain high-end ones last longer, and as true as it is that spending lots of money doesn't always mean better value, this time it definitely does!

Pixi - Glow Tonic

This has been doing its rounds in the Blogger realm for a long time now, and I always have a peek when in the PIXI store on Carnaby Street, but have never taken the plunge, but armed with a 20% off voucher, and a splurging day in London, I left the store with a feeling of self-accomplishment!

I use this every morning and evening, and pop a tiny bit on a cotton pad - a little goes a very long way - after cleansing, and leave it to soak in for a minute or two, I love the scent of this, it is very strong when applying, but you cannot smell it at all on the skin, which is probably preferable for most as the Ginseng scent is very strong!

This has done wonders for clearing up my skin, I've been having really bad skin problems in the last month or so, and this has brought all break outs up, in order to rectify the issue, and I can already see a difference! I would highly recommend picking this up, the bottle is really big, and as I said, a tiny bit is still too much!

Nude VS Red

As you probably know if you're a long term reader, I love a nudey-pink lip, but I'm forcing myself out of my comfort zone as I said last week, and I've found two of my current favourites!

L'Oreals offering is a gloss application, but has the finish of a lipstick, it lasts roughly 2-3 hours but does smudge when eating/drinking, but this is a perfect shade for an everyday look, and if you're out shopping etc!

The Rimmel shade turned my head as soon as I saw it, it was actually half price and it is more of an orange-toned red, which doesn't show very well in the picture, but I'll probably include it in a look soon! It lasts 6-7 hours, with no smudging at all, but this one isn't as bright on my skin tone as other reds can be, and I am definitely more confident wearing this for a daytime look as well as pairing it with a golden eye look for an evening!

This time round, I don't think I can choose between one or the other, because I love the L'Oreal shade for an everyday look, and you can wear quite a heavy eye look, but the Rimmel is such a statement shade! I think that these two are essentials that everyone should have in their collection!
