Sample Saturday | Lancome Hydra Zen

I've had this little pot since Christmas now, and I use it when my skin is very dehydrated, because I absolutely love this, but it is very expensive, and my normal moisturiser is more than sufficient, so this is just a treat for my skin!

It is a very thick cream, and a little definitely goes a long way with this one, I use this at least once a week, and there is still more than half left, which is amazing! It has a very subtle cleansing scent, and it leaves your skin really moisturised, and soft, and you can apply a thicker layer and leave it to sink in overnight if your skin is especially bad!

I am definitely going to pick up a full size version when I finally run out, but I've got a bit of a while to prepare myself, as I'm not used to spending a lot on expensive skincare as I have found very budget friendly options that work perfectly for me!

L'oreal Haul

I was in a bad mood, and when a beauty blogger is in a bad mood, they buy chocolate and make-up..., I've never really brought anything in L'Oreal that I've fallen in love with, but this trip definitely changed my mind!

I am a nude lip girl through and through, but I have decided that I need to get myself out of my comfort zone, and it was a definite love at first site! It is a true red, and the colour pay off is incredible, Thomas isn't so sure, as he thinks I am a bit too pale, but thinks it will work for an evening look, so we'll see!

I love sticking with a foundation, but my usual Rimmel wasn't on offer, and there was a 3 for 2, and after reading many rave reviews, I managed to find the perfect shade for me, albeit the lightest possible, and I genuinely cannot see myself going for a different foundation now. The coverage is amazing from less than half of a pump, but does not look at all cakey, and I also find that this covers all imperfections too meaning that I don't feel the need to apply a concealer!

Infallible Mattifying Base
This was an impulse purchase, as it was the third of the 3 for 2, and it caught my eye, this works wonders to remove any shine from my face, but also keep the natural glow of the face, and it also smooths all pores out, I have just come to the end of my Benefit POREfessional, and I won't be repurchasing that at £23.50 when this one is better for my skin and sits at £8!

Solent Graduate Fashion Show

On Tuesday I was kindly invited to attend the Solent Graduate Fashion Show held at St. Mary's football stadium in Southampton. It was organised by the lovely Jess from unstitchedandfabulous.com.

I spent the evening with the lovely girls from the Southampton Bloggers Network, and after having a wander around and having a look at some of the final year projects, and then we took our seat on the front row, had a peek in the goody bags, and waited for the show to begin!

There were a mixture  of designs for both men and women, and some of them were stunning, my favourites of the collections in particular were Lauren Hawkins and Emma Buckleys.

I even won a voucher for an icecream parlour!

Thank you so much Jess for inviting me and congratulations on hosting such a wonderful event, and to the girls for a lovely evening!

Sample Saturday | Magnitone Lucid

As you might have seen previously, when attending Bloggers Fashion Week, I met with Magnitone, and was kindly given one to give a go! The Magnitone Lucid promises clearer skin within 7 days, and I know that this review is long overdue, but I have been testing out lots of different way of using the product, and also seeing the difference in my skin when not using it, in order to give the most truthful review possible.

I love the packaging of the product, with it fitting perfectly into your hand, and the wireless charging makes it super travel friendly too, it also comes in lots of different colours, but I personally love the pink one, it makes it super easy to spot amongst all of the tubes and bottles amongst my skincare.

The handset is timed at 60 seconds, and beeps at you every 20 seconds to let you know to change the area of your face you are concentrating on, beginning with forehead, then cheeks, and then the chin, mouth and eye area, and there are also two different settings, one for a more intense cleanse, and then a more sensitive one, I have extremely sensitive skin and I find the more intense setting absolutely fine.

I use this for an evening cleanse with my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, and it leaves my skin really refreshed, and clean, and doesn't leave me with a red face like micellar waters do. I saw a difference within the first few days, so it became a staple in my routine, but then forgot it when I went on holiday, and this was the real truth about how much this has helped me skin, because throughout this week I began to break out, and see my skin deteriorate. The second I got back I rushed home to use it again, and yet again my skin cleared up, this product has changed my skincare forever, and has given me confidence that I've been striving for with my skin for years!

GHD

I've never been one to have GHD's before, I've had my current straighteners for years  and they've served me well, but my hair is now longer than it's been in around 10 years, and as I'm playing around with it more, and creating more adventurous styles, I thought it was about time I invested in some high end straighteners that would do as I needed.

I opted for the classic IV styler, and I have been extremely impressed so far! They heat up in 20 seconds, and remain at that temperature throughout without fail, and whereas with my old ones I was having to go over the hair at least 2/3 times, once is enough with the GHD's, and the effect also lasts all day and into the following day too!

In comparison to a lot of other straighteners, GHD's are on the expensive side, but I managed to get 20% off through Unidays, and with retailers such as Feelunique selling them, I'm sure you'll be able to pick up a discount code somewhere!

Charlotte Tilbury - The Golden Goddess

As I've mentioned before, I had a bad experience at the Charlotte Tilbury counter, and they were generous enough to send me out this eyeshadow quad as an apology!

This is the Luxury Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Goddess, and it is a quad, with each eyeshadow having a function - Prime, Enhance, Smoke & Pop. The shadows themselves are super pigmented, and blend beautifully together. I've been wearing this for an everyday look, but also packing more into the look to transform it for the evening!

I can't wait to start building up a collection of Charlotte Tilbury pieces as they are absolutely gorgeous, and they are definitely worth the money!

Roots & Rituals

As you may have seen a few months back, I had the opportunity to talk to Roots & Rituals at Bloggers Fashion Week, and after a few emails back and forth, I was ripping open a parcel a few weeks ago! I finally had the chance to give it a go on Thursday and here are my first impressions!

There are three steps to the process - Oil, Shampoo & Condition, you are recommended to use a clarifying shampoo but I used my standard one and it was perfect, and I used the conditioner provided by Roots and Rituals! The oil is mainly consisted of 5 oils, Argan, Olive, Sweet Almond, Coconut & Avocado. These all work together to restore hair's natural healthiness!

The towel itself was so soft, but I found that it didn't get very hot, but it was still very relaxing and was not at all uncomfortable to wear! The oil has a very strong scent, and at first I was very overwhelmed,  but it soon goes, and you can just sit back and relax and not worry about it! The towel has different settings of heat so you can use as you would like, which is handy as I've seen lots of people querying this!

The results were evident instantly, my hair gets extremely knotted and it can take me up to an hour to get rid of them all, but after using the conditioner, I was left with silky, unknotted hair! 99% of the time I always leave my hair to air dry, and whilst it was drying I could feel the difference in my hair, and you can see the effects the following day, it made my blonde hair come alive and have a very natural gloss to it, which can be hard to achieve whilst between the hairdressers appointments!

I would 100% recommend picking up one of these heated towels, as it is perfect for a pamper evening in!

Zoeva Vegan Prime Brushes

I've just had the biggest clearout of all of my makeup and brushes, so felt that I needed to get some new ones to update my collection, I've had my eye on the Zoeva sets for a while now, and I finally took the leap and decided on the Vegan Prime Set. The set is made up of 10 brushes, and I have chosen my favourites to show you today, but I'm sure you'll see the others in looks etc in the future!

As with all of the sets, they come with a really well made and handy pouch to store them in, which also make them extremely travel friendly!

This Buffing Brush is all I wished for and me, it has an extremely flat surface making it perfect for buffing in your foundation and getting a completely flawless base.

The Cream Cheek Brush is such a perfect size for hitting the apples of your cheeks to give a healthy glow, and I've also been using this to apply my highlighter, as the bristles don't hold any product which means it's completely multi-use.

The Petit Eye Blender has become an absolute staple of mine, I have been using this to pack in a shimmer into the inner corner of my eye, making the whole look pop, and the tiny precise bristles make it perfect for this!

Have you tried out any of the Zoeva sets? Or would you recommend any other brand? Let me know in the comments!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Bipbrow Pomade

I've had my eye on this product for months now, after seeing everyone using it, in particular - Em from mypaleskin. I've only recently fully got into the habit of doing something with my eyebrows, and this product makes it so simple and easy!

I love the packaging of this, with a simple glass pot, meaning that it is super easy to store away, and also makes it ideal for travelling! Onto the product itself, I picked up the shade Taupe, and I find this is the perfect shade, as I dye my hair blonde, but my eyebrows are naturally darker, and I felt that Blonde may have been too light. I was very apprehensive ordering this online, but I am so glad I finally did, and this has been the only product I've even considered using since this arrived on Wednesday!

I got mine from beautybay, and you can pick yours up here!

Sample Saturday | Herbal Essences Bee Strong

I've been using this one on and off for a few months now, just grabbing it whenever it's in my line of vision, and now, I've realised how badly I need to make sure this is always somewhere visible!

The full name is the Herbal Essences Bee Strong Strengthening Cream, and it is very similar to leave in conditioners, it has a spray lid, and then I get the best results with three pumps, and rubbing my hands together to create a good base to apply it with, I run this through the ends of my wet hair when I get out of the bath, and it makes it amazingly smooth, and not knotty at all. The results of this last until the next wash, with your hair left feeling super soft and healthy!

I would highly recommend picking this up, even if it's just to give your hair a bit of life again!

Holiday Beauty Haul

The exchange rate is currently really good, and some pieces were amazing prices, so it's okay right?

Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water
I used this last night and I absolutely love it. The scent is very refreshing, and it removed all of my make up with no effort at all, I can't wait to include this fully in a skincare routine.

Sephora Nail Varnish | Cookie Break
All three Sephora products were birthday presents from Thomas, and he did amazing choosing this shade, it is such a gorgeous nude shade, and perfect for everyday wear!

Sephora Makeup Palette
Again, I didn't spot this, Thomas did, and I have fallen head over heels, with over 50 shades and the possibility to create over 2000 looks, this palette has it all - eyeshadows, liners, lips and blushers & contours. They are all really pigmented, and I will definitely be using this to create some spring/summer looks.

Sephora Face Masks
I love face masks, but struggle to find the perfect ones, so thought I'd give these two a go, and I picked up the scents Lotus and Pomegranate.

MAC Quad Palette
I finally started a palette, and I've wanted the shade Mythology (right) for as long as I can remember, and Malt goes so perfectly with it, I can't wait to finish off this quad with two more. I've worn these all week, and after popping them on at 8/9 in the morning, they are still fully in tact at 8/9 in the evening with no movement or transfer!

MAC 217 Blending Brush
Everyone has this brush, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to pick one up, it is by far my favourite eye brush now, and I've been using it every day without fail!

MAC Fix+
Again, I've been lusting after this for so long, but was always worried that I'd spend the money and not get on with it, how wrong could I have been?! I much prefer this to my Urban Decay Finishing Spray, and I love the multi-use aspect!

KIKO Lip Liners
KIKO had a massive sale meaning that these worked out at £1.40 each, which is incredible! They're really creamy and last ages, and also perfectly match up with their lip products!
Right - 707
Left - 702

KIKO Glossy Stylo | 804
This was actually my second of this range I picked up, but I used the first straight away! These leave the look of a subtle gloss on the lips, but are not at all sticky, and do not transfer when eating/drinking etc either! These last roughly 4-6 hours, and they worked out at just £1.86 each!

KIKO Skin Evolution Foundation
This summed up my tanning ability, this was the last day of our break in Puerto Banus, and I was still the lightest shade available, which for reference is 101 Ivory. This foundation feels like a second skin, but with a remarkable coverage! This lasted from 9 in the morning, and was still flawless at 10 in the evening without a powder, I cannot recommend a foundation more, and they have a good range of shades too!

PHEW!

I did warn you that it was a long one right? All of the pieces I picked up were either presents or amazing prices so I have no regrets at all! I will also have a clothing/accessories haul coming soon too!

Know Your Limits

If you're a regular reader you'll know that I've been very inactive recently, and it's because I've had a lot to do, and a lot of pressure, and I knew that I didn't want to be producing posts that I wouldn't be happy with, so today I have my tips for staying on top of it all!

1) Don't feel bad
If your readers like your content, then they will return, you are only human and you have to put yourself first sometimes!

2) Don't set unachievable targets
Don't feel like you have to post every day, every other day, etc, if you're struggling juggling things then pull it back, it takes off the pressure!

3) Stay active in other ways
Interacting with other bloggers on social media etc can be just as effective as posting, especially with apps such as Buffer, you can schedule tweets throughout the day, so if you are busy but still want to get traffic onto your sight, scheduling tools are your new best friend!

Everyone has things going on that are not portrayed through an edited post, and people understand, your happiness and well being comes through in posts, so take a break!

Sample Saturday | Burberry Kisses

I'M BACK!

After a lovely break in the sun, I am in the blogging mood once again!

A few weeks ago, Burberry became the favourite of every twitter using blogger, with the opportunity to get free mini versions of the lustworthy Burberry Kisses Lipsticks.

Top - 07 Nude Pink
Bottom - 01 Nude Beige

I really like these lipsticks, and these colours pay off so well, the above swatch was just two swipes of the lipsticks, and took a considerable amount of scrubbnig in order to get it off! They last on my lips for roughly 2 hours and there is no transfer when eating or drinking!

Burberry have outdone themselves with this marketing technique, and I know that I will at some point be picking up the full size versions!

Let me know in the comments if you managed to grab a sample and what you think of it!
