Haul

Hello!

As you would have seen in my last post I have been finishing lots of products, so naturally had to take a trip to Boots to stock up!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude Foundation
This was simply a repurchase, one of all time favourite bases, and currently just £4.99 in Boots!

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer
I'm on the search for my holy grail concealer as I can't use the Collection one because it's too dark, and I think I just may have found it.... This is perfect, it is creamy which makes it so easy to blend, and it gives the most flawless finish I have ever seen, I want to pop in and see if they have a foundation version because under my eyes looked so flawless today, absolutely no signs of all the late nights! I couldn't recommend a product more at the moment!

L'Oreal Brow Artist
I lost my Soap & Glory Brow Archery, and managed to find it after I brought this.... but I think I may actually prefer this one! One end has the pencil for filling in, I got the Dark Blonde shade which is the lightest one I believe, and it gives such a lovely natural look, the lid also contains a brush, but I prefer the spoolie? ones!

The other end has a wax to finish, I didn't read the packaging and actually used this as a highlighter the first time and it does a really good job! For £5.49 I would definitely recommend this over Soap & Glory's Brow Archery!

Garnier Micellar Water
This was a simple repurchase, perfect for those nights when you just haven't got the energy to use a hot cloth cleanser! the Cotton Pads are also perfect, they are so large that one does the whole face, and they are super cheap at Boots!

Lush Cosmetics Floating Flower

Lush Cosmetics Heart Throb Bubble Bar

it won't turn... sorry!
Lush Cosmetics Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

I haven't used these products yet, and they're all part of the limited edition Valentines Collection, if you're lucky you might just be able to pick up something but I expect most of it will have gone by now!

Empties!

Hello!

I think this is my first ever empties post... I've been reaching the end of some amazing products so thought I'd pop them all in a post!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I'm on the fence with this concealer, everyone and their Mum seems to have it, and love it, but my struggle is the lack of shades. I have very pale skin and like everyone, I'm forever searching for a concealer slightly lighter than my foundation to brighten the under eye area, and this one is the lightest shade and perfectly matches my Rimmel shades. It's creamy consistency makes this so easy to blend and it's definitely worth the money!
Would I repurchase? Yes

Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot
I've finally hit pan - noooooo - I love this powder, it does absolutely everything you could possibly want a powder to do, I have a full post on this back in December so I won't  put too much here, but have a scroll back!
Would I repurchase? Yes

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude
This has become one of my all time favourite foundations, and I think that Rimmel are amazing at their bases all round! Again, I have a full post in December so head over there for that!
Would I repurchase? Yes

Benefit Gimme Brow
This is my all time favourite brow product, Benefit love their brows, and they do them brilliantly! This is basically a mascara for your brows, and at £18.50, this will last you forever! I want to repurchase right now, but Benefit have an offer on during May that you get a free one with a wax, so I've decided to part ways with my beloved Gimme Brow until then.
Would I repurchase? Yes

I also have a haul coming on Thursday... shhhh!

Sample Saturday

Hello!

I recently ran out of my beloved Aussie, and couldn't face going to Boots and paying the extortionate price for some more, so instead took to my basket and found this sample of the L'Oreal Elvive Colour Protect.

When I first picked this up, I was quite impressed by the size of this sample, as there is a lot more product than the majority of the sachets you find in magazines etc, however, this led to disappointment. I have neither thick or thin hair, and it comes just below my bra at its longest point, and shampoos and conditioners always last me ages because a little product tends to go a long way.

This bottle was not at all sufficient for my hair, with over half of my hair not actually getting any shampoo, despite all of the mixing, and adding a bit more water etc. So I didn't fully see the effects of this one, as I had to substitute it with another half way through, however my initial response was not good. The product holds a weird consistency, and is hard to work into the hair, which will end in expensive hair washes!

Rosie for Autograph

 Hello!

Yesterday I wondered into M&S to finally smell Rosie Huntington Whiteley's new fragrance for Autograph, but before I reached the stand I got distracted by the beautiful underwear range, and having lusted after it for so long, when I saw the sign saying that when spending £30 you get the Scented Candle set free, I gave in!

felt it a bit TMI to put the full details up

You get three candles in the set, and they hold a lovely floral scent, which is not at all overpowering, I would definitely say that these are luxurious relaxation candles! The set it normally £15, so I would definitely recommend taking advantage of this amazing valentines offer, and the deal applies to £30 spent on any Lingerie, Nightwear or Fragrance.

Take A Break!

Hello!

So I've been quite busy recently, with lots of uni work and reading to prepare, having my weekend job, preparing work experience etc, and the last week or so I have reaqlly enjoyed just spending the evening relaxing. Friday evenings are one of my favourites, because I can do whatever I like, with not seeing Tom and my Mum being at work. So I spent my evening with a few of my current favourites, a glass bottle of Coke, some Creme Eggs (Thanks Tom!) and also my new found love - my Kindle!

Sometimes it does you the world of good to just take an evening or even just an hour to sit down and have some you time, you'll be amazed how good it leaves you feeling!

Sample Saturdays

Hello!

So, the other day I was trying to think of a new series that I can begin on here, and glancing around my room found my ridiculous samples basket. This has been accumulated through magazine samples, Glossyboxes, Birchboxes, freebies from shops etc so thought it was about time I finally got round to using them all and even better that I can use them for a series too!

Up first we have two miniature hand creams from l'Occitane, and these are actually the latest addition to my stash, as they have an offer on at the moment that if you join their mailing list you get a voucher entitling you to this free gift!

Hand cream is always a necessity for me to have around as Tom gets really bad dry hands, so it's always handy to have one! These two 10ml tubes are perfect for popping in your pocket or bag, and they come in two scents - Rose and Vanilla. They are super moisturising and a little product goes a long way.

These are £8 for a 30ml tube.

Would I purchase the full size - definitely.

A Year of thelifeofjks

Hello!

On Sunday, I had been blogging for an entire year, which seems crazy to me! When I started this blog I wasn't really expecting anyone to read it, and I didn't really tell anyone, but gradually it has grown and grown, This is my own little corner of the internet that I love and am incredibly proud of. I've met some lovely people though this, and have been lucky enough to attend some lovely events, and been invited to even more that I unfortunately have had to miss. In the next year I hope to continue bringing you new exciting posts, and for my blog to grow even more.

I would like to thank you all for reading, and I hope you continue to do so!

Lots of love,

Room Details

Hello!

So, I'm in the middle of redoing my room with furniture, storage etc, but there are aspects of my room that I love so I thought I'd share them with you!

Bedside Cabinet
So, only Tom currently has a bedside cabinet, so it's very feminine to say the least haha! I have a lamp that I prefer to use than a ceiling light, a few of my favourite candles - they are all Yankee Candles, and the red one is a autumn spice or berry(something along those lines), the small Jar is Strawberry Buttercream which I've done a whole post on - thank you again Ellen! & The large jar was a christmas present from Tom a few years ago and it's the scent White Christmas and it's one of my all time favourites.
There are two photoframes with some of my favourite pictures of us, the larger one is engraved from Tom, and it's a picture from over 2 years ago at Christmas, and the heart was a present from Tom's mum and it's a picture of us on our first Holiday in Cornwall.
The glass cube is a beautiful present from Tom, it has the message 'every single day, in every single way, I love you more and more xxx' and it's just lovely! There is also a deep purple heart infront of this with the word 'love' on, and I picked it up in an individual local shop for like £1!

Jewellery Hanger
I love this, I picked this up at a Home Bargains for £2/3 and I love using it to store my Statement Necklaces on, I do have more than this, but I have a terrible habit of leaving them all around the house haha! I think it's such a cute form of storing them, and I keep this next to my door to make sure I never forget to put one on if I need it!

Memories
My room is full of memories and gifts from Tom, but I think this has to be one of my favourites. We look going to Zoo's etc, and each one, I pick up a small teddy of my favourite animal of the day!
Monkey - Tom went to Monkeyworld without me :( and I asked me to bring me a monkey home, and instead of a live monkey I got this, I wasn't expecting anything so I'll let him off ;)
Giraffe - Longleat Adventure and Safari Park is super close to us so we regularly go, and this one was the first time we got to feed the giraffes!
Spider Monkey - This was this years addition, and they didn't have much of a selection, but we did see the Spider Monkeys that day, and even though we had the lemurs coming up to us and stroking them etc, I managed to get a keyring of a lemur!
Tiger - This is my favourite one by far, I love the film 'We Brought A Zoo' and I didn't realise that it was actually based on the Dartmoor Zoological Park near Plymouth, so on the last day of our holiday in Cornwall, Tom suprised me and took me down there, and a large part of the film is how they have to put a tiger down, and they put up a plaque, and I think it's my favourite part, and I was devastated that the plaque wasn't there, but when walking round we found a little forest area that had a plaque for each and every animal that has died at the park, so we picked up a Tiger.

Eventually, I will give you a full room tour when I'm happy with everything!

lots of love,
Jess xxx
