Desert Island Essentials

Hello lovely readers!!  I'm Joanna of joannasprinkles.blogspot.com and today I am doing a guest post on here all about my 5 desert island beauty products!

Picture this - you are on a luxury cruise ship, travelling round the Pacific Ocean, when you hear an announcement.  “The ship is sinking!”,  the captain cries. “Take what you can and board a lifeboat!” You have to decide in a split second what to bring with you, and you quickly grab your 5 favourite products.  Want to know what I would take?  Read on…

Product 1 - Avène cleansing bar

I've only recently started incorporating this product into my routine, and my only regret is that I didn't start using this sooner!  It looks like a simple bar of soap, but is so, so much more than that.  After using it, my skin is always baby soft, without being oily.  Avène are famous for their range of products perfectly suited for sensitive skin, and this is no exception!  If you are prone to redness or puffiness from other cleansers, this will be your lifesaver.

Product 2 - Collection 24 hour felt tip eyeliner

This is an amazing eyeliner - it has a felt tip making it really easy to use!  The colour is pitch black (no need for a second coat!) and lasts well, I get a good 6 hours of wear before it begins to face.  Another good thing is that it is such good value for money - for £2.99 you will get an eyeliner that lasts for around 5 month which is amazing value!  If you want more detail about this eyeliner I have a full review up on my blog.

Product 3 - Batiste dry shampoo

On a desert island, there won't be any baths or showers - meaning no hair washes.  This dry shampoo is amazing - it really helps get you through a day when you just can't be bothered to wash your hair.  It also is great if you want to add a bit of texture to your hair; it's perfect for messy buns and side plaits/braids.

Product 4 - 2true 3-in-1 concealer

At £1.99, this is a steal in my opinion.  If you struggle to find a good concealer because you are so pale, you are in luck; the lightest shade of this concealer is the palest shade of any face product I've ever tried.  If you're not so pale, they also do 2 darker shades.  I have a full review of this product over on my blog Smiling face (black and white)

Product 5 - Maybelline The Falsies mascara

I've tried many mascaras, but none have come close to this one.  It comes out deliciously dark, and doesn't flake off during the day.  The slightly curved brush makes coating all your lashes child's play, and I have noticed a 50% reduction in me stabbing myself in the eye because of it. (Well, maybe not exactly that much, but I definitely haven't ended up with as many red, watery eyes after being injured with a mascara brush since using this!)

I really hope you have enjoyed reading this post.  It has been an honour to write a post for Jess' blog, her blog is wonderful and she is just such a lovely happy person!
