Elizabeth Arden Lipstick

Hello!

So for Christmas, as I mentioned I received a big bundle of Elizabeth Arden Make-Up from Thomas, and these four lipsticks were one of my favourite pieces! I absolutely love the shades of all four, even the brighter colours which is suprising for me! They are all super wearable, and the consistency and lasting power of each is remarkable! I would definitely recommend picking a few of these up, and of course the metallic packaging looks gorgeous displayed! These exact shades aren't on the website, but you can probably pick them up at counters!

Eliazbeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

Hello!

So, I had a Debenhams voucher to use, and after lusting after the Eight Hour Cream for months on end, I finally decided to take the plunge, and luckily the lovely assisstant advised me that for just £2 more I could get this whole package.

 Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant
This can be used for absolutely everything, ' to shape brows, revitalise shine, soothe dry hands and smooth cuticles and nails. Also for symptoms of chapping, peeling or flaking due to minor burns, sunburn, windburn, scrapes, abbrasions or cracked lips.' This definitely gets it's money worth! The only thing I'm not too keen on is the scent.

Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturising Hand Treatment
This is an incredible product, you need the smallest amount in order for application for your hands, and it leaves them moisturised for hours on end.

Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturising Body Treatment
I haven't had the chance to use this yet, but I definitely can see all of the range becoming a permanent feature of my routine.

Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser For Face
Again, this is one that is yet to be used, but I want to invest in the whole collection!

Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick
This is perfect, it is shaped like a lipstick so is so easy to just pop into your bag for on the go, and also means that you can save the Skin Protectant for other purposes other than lips!

What I Got For Christmas

Hello!

This is in no way me bragging or showing off, but I love seeing what others got for Christmas so thought that I would post too!

LUSH Cosmetics
I got huge amounts of LUSH for Christmas, and I'm so excited to use it all! A few of my favourites are So White shower gel and bath bomb, Baked Alaska Soap, and Candy Mountain. The two boxes at the front are handmade bath bombs from a Christmas Market. I also may have brought some bits in the Christmas sale.... oops!

Disney
I got quite a few DVDs for Christmas including a few boxsets, but these have to be my favourite! I absolutely love the Disney Classic covers and this brings my collection to 10!

Make-Up
Thomas  did well this year, I requested the Elizabeth Arden set as I found an incredible deal, so he got me and his mum the set, and it's incredible!! The Lancome gift was chosen especially! He chose a beautiful shade of lipstick, and even got a free gift with skincare and bits in too!

Yummy Treats
Christmas would not be right without the mounds of chocolates and bits, and these are my favourite that I received! The Belgian Chocolate Truffles are to die for and the bear and poppets are one of my favourites!

Earrings
These were my favourite present I received, Thomas brought me these gorgeous earrings and I couldn't love them more!

I absolutely love all of the gifts I received, a couple of other bits I got were some Beats headphones, a dressing gown, some Elizabeth Arden skincare etc.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who gave me a gift this year!

lots of love,

Balmi - Coconut

Hello!

I hope you've all had an amazing christmas!

On Christmas Eve- Eve I popped into Topshop as I could see that they had started to organise their sale, and spotted a clear plastic bauble that had the Coconut Balmi Lip Balm in, and I had wanted one of these since February, when I made the impossible choice between an EOS and a Balmi. Since then, I have not seen the point in spending £5 on one when I had the EOS. So when I saw the £2 label I just couldn't resist! I'm not a major fan of the coconut scent which is why I'm glad that it's not an overpowering scent. This is super nourishing, and at the moment it's a bit easier to apply than the EOS due to the pointed tip, but I'm sure that this will even itself out the more I use this one! I would definitely recommend seeing if you can pick one of these up, especially at such a good price!

Christmas Favourites

Hello!

Now I've broken up from uni, I'm trying to fully immerse myself in the Christmas spirit, and have found a couple of bits that I love!

The Grinch is one of my all time favourite Christmas films, and I realised this year that I didn't have it on DVD, so that quickly got fixed, and then when my new bed arrived last night me and Tom snuggled up and watched it!

You probably all know how much I love LUSH Cosmetics Snow Fairy, as I mention it all the time. But I am a strong believer that this should be available all year round!  It smells good enough to eat, and leaves your skin silky soft!

As I said the other day, I have come around to the idea of a bright lip, and I am loving the two Rimmel Apocalips that I managed to pick up at an amazing price - in particular I love the darker shade! I feel very festive when wearing this one!!

What are you loving this Christmas?

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and get everything you wish for!

Benefit - R.S.V.P

Hello!

I've recently rediscovered one of my all time favourite eyeshadows, it's one of Benefit's cream eyeshadows in the shade R.S.V.P. I received this in one of their sets, and instantly fell in love! It is a gorgeous rose gold/champagne colour, and just applies so well, and I can confirm that this does not crease at all throughout the day! I think that this is perfect at the moment for a festive look with a bright lip!

Rimmel Colour Crush

Hello!

This was my final purchase from my visit to B&M, and this cost an amazing £1!

I am a major fan of nudes, as I think that where I'm so pale, bright lips can just show too much of a contrast, but I am loving bright lips at the moment!

This one has such a lovely texture, and unlike the majority of other similar products out there, this one doesn't have any glitter in - finally! It leaves a lovely gloss finish, and even though it does transfer onto glasses etc as most do, it still stays on the lips for hours on end. This is definitely one of my favourite lip products at the moment, and this has opened a gateway for the brighter colours to come join the countless nudes in my collection!

Lasting Finish - 1000 Kisses

Hello!

This was another purchase from B&M, and this was only £1.50! I used to have this exact shade, but mine never fully worked and it just got annoying so I ended up throwing it away, however, this one works perfectly and I just love the shade of this! Personally, I don't like the clear gloss end, as I find it to be a weird texture, and for it not to leave a gloss on the lips, so I use this as a tint instead, and it gives such a natural colour for the days when you don't want to have too much make-up on!

Rimmel Apocalips

Hello!

On a recent trip to B&M I stumbled across the beauty aisle, and picked up some bargains! I've had a nude version of the Rimmel Apocalips before, and fell in love with the texture, finish and constistency! There is nothing wrong with these glosses! I managed to pick these up for £2, compared to the £6.49 in Boots! I love the applicator for this one, as it definitely makes it easier for those of us with smaller lips! The colours are gorgeous, and as you can see from the swatches- highly pigmented! That is just a light swipe!

(L-R) Stellar & Apocalyptic

I would highly  recommend these glosses, and if you want to save a few pennies then pop along to your local B&M!

The Body Shop Colour Crush

Hello!

I was lucky enough to receive this lovely nail varnish from my friend Aysha as a Christmas present, I've had my eye on the latest launches from The Body Shop for a while, and was so happy to open this!

This is in the shade Meet Me At Dusk, this is a gorgeous nude shade that is perfect for the days when you want something on your nails, but for it not to be too obvious! I really like the consistency of this, and it dries quickly which is ideal! I've just painted my nails now so I guess we'll have to wait and see how long it lasts and if it chips easily!

I would just like to say thank you to Aysha for a lovely present!

Bargain vs Blow-out

Hello!

So, blemishes and breakouts are every girls worst nightmare, and I've spent years trying to find the perfect treatment, I've had these two for a few months now, so thought I'd play them off against eachother!

The Witch Blemish Stick costs £2.50 and I picked it up in my local tescos, The main put off for me is the practicality of the product, you push the product up from below, and then when you're finished you then have to push it back down. At first, the product feels weird to be applying straight to your face, but after a few uses the corners round out, and it applies smoothly! This does a really good job at preventing any upcoming spots that you can see under the skin, but not so well at the ones that are already there!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is £7. Application of the product is again a bit annoying, where you only need a tiny bit, you have to stand there shaking for ages to get some product out. This does mean that there is no wasted product though, so there's a silver lining to that cloud! This oil works wonders on all spots, the only thing I would say is that if there is any broken skin then this can definitely sting!

Overall, I would recommend both products, but for me the winner is the Body Shop Tea Tree Oil, as it works faster, and works on all blemishes and spots! P.S if you sign up to the Body Shop Newsletter then you will get emailed lots of offers to save you some money!

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Hello!

Yesterday, we have a University trip to go to The Making Of Harry Potter Studio Tour, and although it was the second time I've been been, it was just as incredible!

I went over 2 years ago with Tom, and since that they've added bits and moved lots around, so it wasn't as if I was paying to see the exact same thing again! The tour is a definite must for any Harry Potter fans, as you get to see all of the favourite sets, the costumes, the props etc, and the incredible attention to detail that the crew put in the entire time!

One small thing! Do be aware of the very high prices in the shop at the end!

Yankee - Strawberry Buttercream

Hello!

So, when it gets cold there's nothing better than having a super long bubble bath and then snuggling up and watching Netflix all evening, and I couldn't do either of these things without a good candle!

My friend Ellen got me this candle for Christmas, remembering that it's one of my favourite scents, and it is heavenly! It smells good enough to eat, but it isn't too sweet in my opinion, and my favourite part is when you blow it out just as you're going to sleep and then the scent gets a bit stronger all around the room and you can still smell it - dreaming about cake anyone?

If you love Yankee, or if you haven't tried any of them before then definitely go grab this one, and thank you very much Ellen for a lovely present!!

Naked 3 vs Basics

Hello!

So, in blogger land, Urban Decay palettes are seen as a holy grail product, with the lovely highly pigmented shades, and the mix of matte, shimmer and satin shades, they are an essential in every make up collection!

The first palette I picked up was the Naked 3, and then I later brought the Basics, and I have to say, that I completely fell in love with Naked 3, and that Basics just doesn't compare for me! I like a very feminine make up look, so the pink toned shades in Naked 3 are perfect for me, and yes occasionally I do jut go for a very nude look which makes Basics perfect, but for everyday wear, Naked 3 is definitely the one for me! Naked 3 retails for £37 and Basics for £22, but I brought both off a website called cohorted, and I paid £18.50 and £15 for them, and Urban Decay do regularly appear so I would highly recommend keeping an eye on there to grab yourself a bargain!

Garnier Micellar Water

Hello!

Since I brought this back in the summer, it has been a daily essential for me! This is the perfect remover, as it is as gentle as pure water, but removes all traces of make up instantly! This is also very refreshing so is a perfect morning pick me up! As you can see, I am  just reaching the end of the bottle, which is so good, as I use this at least once a day! The bottle does claim to have up to 400 uses, and it doesn't disappoint! This retails at an incredible price of £4.99, which is ridiculous in comparison to the high end equivalents such as Bioderma!

This is available for purchase here

Benefit They're Real

Hello!

So, I've spoken about this briefly before, so I thought I would do a full review of this mascara, as I think I'll be due for a repurchase soon!

They're Real is the best selling mascara in the UK, and it's incredibly easy to see why! This adds amazing volume with length and a curl - practically impossible for a mascara! The wand on this one is a bit intimidating at first, as it is very thick, and 'spiky' but this is what reaches every single lash, and holds the curl so well!

This mascara can be seen as quite expensive as it is £19.50, but in comparison to Chanel etc where you are looking at £22 upwards, I would say that this is an absolute bargain, as it lasts for so long too! This will definitely erase the need for using two mascaras, and I can guarantee that this will become a staple in your mascara collection!

LUSH: Northern Lights

Hello!

First things first, I would like to say thank you! Last night I hit 6000 views on my blog, which is absolutely crazy! I didn't think that anybody would actually read my little blog, and that amount of views since February is crazy! So thank you all very much!

When I went to see the LUSH Christmas products for the first time, Northern Lights was the one that really drew my attention! I have never seen a bath bomb in this shape before, and I was ecstatic to discover that it is not just a Bonfire Night special!!

On the website it is stated to have a very floral scent, but I definitely see this as having more of a spicy kick to it, however, the effect for me is the main attraction! When you pop this in the bath, the water turns a very vibrant purple shade, and after a minute or so something spectacular happens! Out of one end appears a bright blue, and the other a neon green/yellow. These all swirl together to create the most amazingly relaxing but exciting bath!

I would 100000% recommend this one to anyone who loves LUSH, and also to those rare few who are still yet to try one - where have you been?!

This is £3.50 and available here

Christmas

Hello!

So today's post is a bit different, this one is about the Christmas period and what it represents to me.

The past few days I've done lots of things that have made me feel incredibly festive, and with the people that mean the most to me, my friends, family and Tom. Christmas is all about spending time with the important people in your life, and I've done lots of that. Last week I had a catch up with a school friend, then on Sunday we took a visit to go to Longleat at Christmas with some friends, Monday Tom and I had a day out to visit Winter Wonderland, Tuesday we went to Bath with Toms Mum, Wednesday I helped my friend decorate her flat ready for Christmas, and then yesterday we celebrated Tom's birthday!

As you can tell I've been very busy, but spending so much time with lovely friends and family has been amazing, and I'm now super excited to give them all their Christmas presents and see their faces, and spend lots of time snuggled on the sofa eating chocolate watching The Grinch!

The meaning behind Christmas can sometimes get lost amongst all of the presents and decorations, but sometimes it is important to take a step back, and just spend some quality time with the people in our lives!

I hope you all have a wonderful festive season with your loved ones, the picture below we took at Winter Wonderland, and as well as being my favourite picture of me and Tom, it's also one of my favourite trips we've had, so make many memories that you'll have forever!

The 50p Brush

Hello!

A while ago I saw someone posting about some bargains on Amazon, and after checking them out I couldn't resist!

This set came in at just £1.98 and as you can see, you get FOUR BRUSHES! That works out at just less than 50p a brush which is incredible! The quality of these brushes is also remarkable, they are very soft, and dense, but also perfect for precise application and of course blending! The only brush that I haven't actually used yet is the one on the far right, as I've been going for the very smoky look, and this is for very precise application, with glitter perhaps!

I would definitely recommend picking these up and you can see them here

One Heck of a Blot

Hello!

Is it really December 3rd already?! After a wonderful few days I am feeling incredibly festive so expect lots of Christmassy posts coming up!

Today I'm talking about the Soap & Glory - One Heck of a Blot Translucent Powder, I had some boots points going spare a few weeks ago so picked up a couple of pieces, and this instantly drew me in. I have to use a translucent powder because otherwise I find that they add an orange tinge to my face which isn't ideal, this is by far one of my favourite powders that I have used.

The compact comes with its own applicator, but I'm still not entirely convinced that it can beat my trusty Real Techniques Powder Brush, but it really helps precise application in the required areas! I would definitely recommend this powder, as it lasts all day and it doesn't leave that cakey texture  as some do!

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation

Hello!

Recently I finished my beloved Match Perfection foundation, and as much as I love my MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I didn't want to have to use it every day as it is very expensive, so I went to go repurchase for the millionth time, and I saw the new range.

In terms of results, I don't actually see the difference between the two, which is really annoying because it's actually more expensive... It might just be my skin, but for me the Match Perfection lasts all day anyway so I think that I will just stick with that in the future!

Rimmel Foundations are a must for those of us with pale skin, as they have the perfect shades, I actually have to use the Light Porcelain shade which is the lightest in the range, but it is the perfect match for me!

etre belle Liplift Peel

Hello!!

As I said, this is the beginning of daily posts for the festive month! Up today we have the etre belle liplift peel

I think that I first received this in some form of beauty box, and never really used it until the other day when I had a major clear out of my make-up and skincare and rediscovered it. This is very similar to a lip scrub, like the LUSH bubblegum one for example, but the reason that I have been picking this up instead recently, is at night time I prefer to not have such a sweet strong scent on my lips, and this does the exact same function, with the same effect!

A lip peel/scrub is essential in the colder months to keep your lips super soft, and therefore it will help your lipstick stay on a lot longer!

Harvey Nichols Glossybox

Hello!

As you all know, I recently made the decision to cancel my subscription to Glossybox, but when they emailed me with the Harvey Nichols Glossybox, I HAD to get one - right?

This cost £35 and P&P, and I know that sounds like a lot of money, but it was worth over £150!!!!

- Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream - this is an anti-ageing product, and Elemis is such a popular brand that I'm super excited to start using this, and I'm determined to make the sample last a long time!
- O.P.I Nail Varnish - Viking in a Vinter Vonterland - This is such a gorgeous colour, this instantly went onto my nails, and I love O.P.I products, they are such a good quality and they last forever!
- NARS Satin Lip Pencil - Rikugien - This was one of the main attractions of the box for me, and it is so nearly a full size one! This is a gorgeous colour, and looks quite brown, but when applied it is a definite 'your lips but better' colour!

- Macademia Natural Oil - Healing Oil Treatment - I've been wanting to try out the Macademia Oil for a while now, and this gives me the perfect opportunity to try it out before taking the plunge and buying a full size!
- Benefit They're Real Mascara - This is my all time favourite mascara, and I'm glad for a mini version as it is perfect to just pop in your bag for a top up throughout the day!
- Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - I received this in a previous beauty box, and I instantly fell in love! I love the consistency of this primer, and it makes your foundation last SO long! I would definitely recommend this!

- Radial Bee Venom Moisturiser - I'm loving bee venom products at the moment, so this will definitely be used up, but I'm hoping to find a slightly cheaper alternative.
- Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum - I always hover around the Dermalogica counter, but it's a lot of money to spend if you've never used any of the products before, so I was happy that I received this, and it's not too bad a sample size either!
- Orgnx Coconut & Macadamia Oil - Intensive Repair Treatment - I love a good hair treatment, and there is so much in this sachet that I'm going to pop this into a pot and hopefully it will last a couple of uses!

- Harvey Nichols Limited Edition Candle - I love this, it smells very christmassy, and I'm going to save this one for burning whilst having a nice relaxing bath!
- Show Lux - Volume Mousse - I've never really used Mousse, and actually brought one the other day when it was in the sale, and then this beauty arrived! This is £30 to buy........ £30!!! The tin is so gorgeous that this is going to stay on my dressing table for years after it runs out!

So that's everything that I got in the limited edition box, I'm afraid that it's actually sold out now, but I would definitely recommend getting one of their collaboration boxes as they never fail to impress!

Anthony

Hello!

Recently, I received a sample product from Anthony.com in a Birchbox, and unfortunately had a reaction to a product, and as an apology, they generously sent me over some goodies!

Shave Cream - I handed this over to Tom as I know he has irritation whilst shaving, so I can't comment on this I'm afraid!
Glycolic Facial Cleanser - this is step 1 (Cleanse) of their 4 step routine, and is a very natural cleanser, containing vitamins A,C and E for nourishment and protection
Purifying Astringent Pads - This is step 2 (tone) I've never  seen pads for a toner, but I'm currently loving Pads as they are less abrasive on the skin,
Oil Free Facial Lotion - Stage 3 (Moisturize) This is to control any shine on your face which will then prolong the lasting power of your make up, double winner!
Deep Pore Cleansing Clay - Stage 4 (Treat) This is a lovely face mask which claims to erase any impurities!

They also threw in a few samples for me to try out too!

Invigorating Hair + Body Wash - This has a lovely scent to it, being a very masculine one however, so this will be left on the side for Tom when he stays over!
Facial Scrub - This smells incredible!! I am a bit wary going in as I tend to avoid scrubs due to their abbrasive nature, but this one doesn't actually feel too bad so hopefully it'll be fine!
Instant Fix Oil Control - This is similar to the lotion above, but this is a lot more lightweight, and you only apply this to the needed areas!
Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Peptide Serum - This is going to be really useful to keep the youthful look to my skin! I will use this sparingly to the eye area, and the frown lines on my forehead!

Through their huge generosity, Anthony have completely renewed my skincare routine, and I would just like to say a massive thank you for their amazing customer service, and for sending me so many amazing products! Be sure to check them out here

The Bargain Palette

Hello!

A few weeks ago I picked up this amazing palette after seeing lots of bloggers etc picking it up, and I'd been searching in all of my local stores, and online and it was sold out everywhere, until I went to show it to a friend and realised that it was finally back in stock!

This is a gorgeous palette that comes in at just £8 and is from Make up Revolution which I got from Superdrug! All of these colours are super wearable, ranging from the classic nudes to the wintery berry shades! There is also a mix of shimmer and matte shades, and the black shades essential for the infamous smoky eye!

I personally love this palette, and it is so handy with the gorgeous large mirror perfect to use when doing all of your make up. The only bad thing I have to say is that it's annoying that the lid isn't stiff enough so you have to prop it up against something, but apart from that this has become one of my staples!

Christmas

As I said in my last post, I have a super exciting plan for Christmas this year! I am going to be posting every single day, and each day is going to be an item/thing/event/place that I have loved during 2014! This will begin on the 1st December and running until the 31st!

Thank you for reading today's post, and be sure to check back!

Nip and Fab

Hello!

There has been a significant lack of posts recently, and that's because I felt like I had lost my mojo, but I am back, with lots of enthusiasm to get back into blogging, and some very exciting plans for Christmas posts!!!

Today I am talking about Nip + Fab, I've had my eye on a few of their products for a while now, and I discovered that my local Tesco's had them all at 50% off the other week, so I picked a few up.

Deep Cleansing Fix, Glycolic Fix Exfoliation Pads and Bee Sting Eye Cream.

I had been looking for a new cleanser for a while, and I love this one, as it acts as a cleanser similar to the Hot Cloth Cleansers, and as a moisturiser, and you can also apply a thin layer and leave it overnight! This gave my skin an instance radiance and just pumped a lot of hydration back into my skin, which is essential for me as I get very dry skin in the colder months.

I don't get along with exfoliators, I never have - I have ery sensitive skin so I can find them to be very abrasive and rough on my skin, so tend to avoid them, until I saw these pads! This is perfect for anyone with very sensitive skin as they are very soft, and do not dry out, again these came with an instant effect for me, as I could see my skin becoming a lot clearer, and made me feel more comfortable when not wearing any make-up.

I love a good Eye Cream: fact! I love the Benefit It's Potent but I have two tester pots, and when I have long nails it is impossible to get any product out, and I have heard nothing but praise for the Bee Sting range. This has actually become my favourite eye cream, and it really helps to reduce puffiness and redness which is a necessity for a student who has to wake up early and spends half the night watching crap on the tv!

I love these products, and I'm hoping to pick up a few more if I see some offers! I would highly recommend these to everyone, with all skin types! Feel free to ask me any questions and give me your recommendations!!

Coming Soon - The Bargain Palette

COLAB

Hello!

First things first, I owe you all an apology! I've been a bit MIA for the past week or so, and it's purely because I have a lot of University work due in the next few weeks, so I'm afraid there will not be three posts a week at the moment - but I have a couple lined up so I'm going to be going for 1 a week, and possibly 2 if I can squeeze in the time!

Today, I am talking about the launch of Ruth Crilly's dry shampoo range - COLAB. As a blogger, it is a natural instinct when another Blogger releases a product to want to try it out, and after reading so many amazing reviews, I had to get some for myself. It was actually on offer on Superdrug, so go check if you can save a bit of money!

The product itself is revolutionary for dry shampoo, the white mist and grey patches are long gone, with the rise of the clear spray! This leaves no discoloured residue on the hair at all, and this gives you hair an amazing texture, which makes it perfect for freshly washed hair too! There are 4 different scents, all names aptly after a city, as you can see I picked up Rio (tropical) and New York (fruity). They are not at all overpowering, but it just makes it a little more special when applying!

I also love the design of the product, with the different colours and patterns distinguishing between the variations, these look lovely on your dressing table - especially if you have the whole collection!

I am relatively new to the world of dry shampoo, as I never saw the benefits, and until this, the Aussie range has been my favourite, but this has by far overtaken! I would highly recommend this to everyone - whether you are planning on using it for just adding a bit of texture, or to refresh day old hair! This is now a staple in my hair care routine!

Secret Buys...

Hello!

I've recently said 'I'm happy with my make-up', which was a big mistake!! Because I'm now not allowed to buy anything, so the other day, I stumbled into Boots with a friend, and had a brainwave - I have £12 of boots points!!! So it's not officially buying anything - right?

I've had my eye on a few new lipsticks lately, and I've been steering myself away from MAC and Chanel, because it's a lot of money for something I shouldn't be buying. I instantly went to the Rimmel section, as I have a Kate for Rimmel one already, and have had a fancy for another, as they are so long lasting, and the colours are gorgeous.

I picked up
Kate for Rimmel -101
Moisture Renew - 200
Rimmel Lash Accelerator

I love the colours of both of the lipsticks, and I was suprised that I chose the Moisture Renew because it's very bold for me as I normally go for a nude lip, hence the Kate in 101. The lasting power of these is incredible! I applied one at 6.30am the other morning, and when I returned at 6 it was still perfectly intact, going through eating and drinking. I also love the mascara, this was actually free when you spend £10, and this is instantly one of my favourite drug store mascaras. It gives so much volume and length and for the small price tag it's so worth it!

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Collection

Hello!!

I recently announced to Tom, that I was actually happy with my collection of make-up etc at the moment and would stop buying things! Then Cohorted announced these brushes...

I've wanted these for so long because I already own a 'lot' of the other collections, and wanted to give this ones a go as they look so fluffy and soft in the box, and I managed to get them down from £23.99 to £13.60!

First things first, presentation wise, these are by far my favourite, the packaging just looks so sleek and professional, and it makes all the difference! I also love that every real techniques brush is coloured according by the use of the product, for example with the bronze ones being for the base etc, and even though they have made the decision to mark these White to add to the prestige, they have kept with the traditional code through the naming of the brushes, as you can see in the picture below.

In terms of effect etc, I wasn't expecting to like them very much, as I think that they feel a bit more synthetic compared to the rest of the brushes, but I actually love the finish that these give! One thing I would say is that they pick up a lot more product than standard brushes, so be very wary with highly pigmented products, for example an encounter with my Benefit Hoola Bronzer resulted in a very heavy contour for me... they give a lovely airbrushed finish, and I plan on keeping these for special occasions and when I want to make a massive effort with my make-up, as I don't want them to get a bit tatty, but I'm looking forward to creating some new exciting looks for you all with them!

Beauty Boxes - Worth it?

Hello!

Sorry this is a day late!! My phone broke and wouldn't turn on meaning no alarm, which meant that I had 15 minutes to get ready yesterday morning, and I didn't get the chance to get it up before I went out for the day!!

Since I've been blogging, beauty boxes have been a monthly staple in my posts, with Glossybox from the start, and Birchbox accompanying them for the last few months. I've recently reorganised my make up collection, and realised how much product I actually have, amongst baskets and baskets of skin care, and bath pieces, and samples upon samples upon samples of numerous other bits. It was upon this discovery that I made the decision to terminate my subscription to both my beloved Glossybox and Birchbox.

Both boxes are £10 each a month and then an additional £2.95 for delivery.

Glossybox

I've had Glossybox since last June, and I've always loved the excitement of that little pink box arriving! Glossybox have always been the ones for me that help introduce me to new exciting brands, as well as the traditional well loved ones! One annoying thing about them, is that they are extremely fond of Nail Varnishes, and those tiny Perfume samples :( Apart from that, I've only ever had one problem with them which is when they sent me a blusher which broke, and another item which wasn't in my box, but they were really good with it, and instantly sent out replacements and even a few extra bits thrown in to apologise! One of the things I love the most about Glossybox is the themes every other month, and the gorgeous box designs! I have told myself that I'm allowed the occasional box if it's a very good one!

Birchbox

I decided to grab this one, as I had a discount voucher for my first box, and then thought, I'll keep it going until I get a bit fed up. Birchbox for me, brings out more of the well known and loved brands such as Benefit etc, and I also love their reward scheme of money to spend in the shop on the products! I found that Birchbox was working out at having the most value each month, as they are very fond of the high end luxury brands unlike Glossybox who include brands such as Essence etc. The standout thing for me with Birchbox, is the lifestyle extra, I think it is such a cute idea and seperates them from the other beauty boxes out there!

I think that beauty boxes are a brilliant concept, and the fact that both offer a one month rolling contract means that you can just cancel at any point when you are satisfied, and also they both have their reward schemes which means either a free box or money to spend on products! As I said, if I see a box that stands out for me, then I will definitely pick up the occasional one, but for now, I'm going to concentrate on making the most out of all the products I own, and to replace my monthly posts on them, I am going to be putting up looks incorporating some of the products I have gained from them!

October Glossybox

Hello!

Up to a week later, my Glossybox finally arrived - yaaaay! Last month we actually got a sneak peek and knew that we would be receiving a box design that is inspired by Andy Warhol, and look how amazing it is!

Nuxe Masque Creme Fraicher

I was a bit dissappointed with this, yet another tube of a face mask, I think that Glossybox could be a bit more adventurous with what to put in, but that's probably just because I've been a subsciber for so long!

SO SUSAN Mascara

I was super excited when I saw this, as I love SO Susan and the products, but this was a massive let down for me! The formula is so watery that it smudges when you blink... I think that this one might go to the bottom of the pile for an emergency mascara!

Yves Rocher Fragrance

I think that this is just the cutest! I definitely prefer getting a miniature size bottle rather than those dreadful sample things that you can pick up for free! I suprisingly love this scent, as it's not something that I would normally be attracted to, but I love wearing this and it lasts so long too.

Ciate - Snow Virgin 010

I love Ciate, and I've been on the lookout for a white nail varnish for a while now, so this killed two bones with one glossybox! The only thing that dissappointed me was the lack of 'the bow', Ciate are infamous for the gorgeous design of the bottles, and the cutest  little bow which appears to absent from all the colours received by Glossybox Subscribers this month.

Rimmel - BB Cream

I can safely say that I know that I personally won't be using this, purely because 1 - I have ridiculously pale skin, so I guarantee this won't be right for me, and 2 - I have extremely sensitive skin, so am very wary of new base products, and I know that I've had a reaction to some of Rimmel's other base products in the past, but |I'm sure I will  find a good home for this!

etre belle - Liplift peel

This is something that I have never even heard of, but as I mentioned above, I doubt that I will be using this myself, as I have to be very careful in terms of skincare and wouldn't want to disrupt this, so I will be passing this on to someone that will get a good use out of it!

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with this months box, because initially I wanted a vampy-gothic box, but then when I saw that it was Pop Art, I prepared myself for bright, abstract colours, and I don't feel like this lived up to that! Sorry Glossybox!
